Sleep Green Door fin

We were proud to host a Sleep Clinic for the general public in March 2019 at the Green Door Market in Bluebell (off the Kylemore Road). This was an all-day event with walk-up queries welcomed. We answered your questions about sleep habits, stress and nutrition, handed out information cards and answered queries on our private coaching services.

Some of our previous clients are detailed below:

Our 2021 corporate wellness programmes are designed with the needs of your workforce in mind, we consult with you to cover topics which will improve focus and productivity in the workplace, as well as improve employee health and quality of life. We are delighted to be a service provider to the public and private sectors.

On Monday 3rd December 2018 we delivered our popular “Healthy Christmas” talk at Palmerstown Library. This was full of tips for a healthier festive season, healthy treats for the family, de-stressing tips and how to “hibernate” in winter for a restful, calming Christmas season. There was a great Q&A afterwards.

A similar talk was delivered to a workplace in Athlone as part of their Christmas fun day for employees, and at a Swords-based business for their November wellness programme. We tailor each talk to suit the audience, working with you to deliver each event in a professional, relevant manner.

48375659_366595200782407_1088660405787557888_nIn November we finished up our 3-part Mindfulness course in a school in Finglas. We really enjoyed working with the parents on stress-relieving and work/life balance through the term. This followed a 3 part wellness programme earlier in the year, both of which received excellent feedback, with attendees reporting significant changes in their stress levels, ability to set healthy boundaries for self-care and healthier habits.

At the end of November we wrapped up a year’s work with a corporate client by speaking at their Annual Sales review in Killashee house hotel. We had delivered a bespoke wellness programme since early Spring to their employees in Celbridge, and this final event brought some of the mindfulness and sleep solutions to management and board of directors. We only work with a handful of select clients in this way and it is always gratifying to see the long-term improvements employees report when our programme spans a significant period.

November also saw us finish our popular 4-part wellness programme with a client on Leeson Street, Dublin 2. This comprises talks and workshops covering diet, sleep, stress and healthy lifestyles, with a great Facebook review from one of the employees, seen below:

We exhibited at the Training, Health & Wellness Roadshow on 26th October 2018 in Harold’s Cross.

This was an event for medical professionals and those working in the health and wellness fields. We took prior email bookings for mini wellness consultations and also welcomed walk-ups on the day.

We completed BMI tests with delegates and consulted in private for 15 mins on diet, sleep and stress with individuals. All delegates received information sheets with lifestyle tips and healthy recipes.

Our interactive stand provided refreshments for all and had a thought-provoking display of hidden sugars in many foods marketed as “healthy”. If you would like us to exhibit at your wellness event for wellness week or similar, please get in touch with niamh@thewellnessclinic.ie

Mind your head FeelFit

On Thursday 11 October as part of World Mental Health Day we gave a talk to the clients of FeelFit Gyms Ltd. in Dublin 3. This 60 minute talk was “Mind Your Head” and included nutrition, exercise and lifestyle tips to reduce stress and burnout. There was a great turnout for the event and as always the questions from the audience were a valued part of the event. Attendees received a card with sleep solutions and healthy recipes to take home.

October also saw the beginning of a mindfulness course in a primary school in North Dublin. Parents attend for breakfast and a mindfulness workshop once a month, learning tips for self-care, dealing with stress and anxiety, self-awareness, confidence boosting and healthy eating motivation. This follows a wellness programme we delivered in the same school in Spring / Summer 2018. Attendance is great and as they share personal insights the whole group benefits.

In September 2018 we launched our Autumn Package for Individual clients, a bespoke wellness service personalised to your needs. Appointments at your convenience in your workplace providing sleep, stress and dietary solutions for optimal mental and physical health. We are extending this to our UK clients from October 2018.

I was delighted to be invited to speak at the Cuidiu National Conference 2018 in May at the Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan. My talk was entitled “Natural Health for Parents” and there was an informative question and answer session at the end. The attendees received diet, lifestyle and stress-relieving tips to make positive changes to their daily routine improving mental and physical health. One attendee left the following review on our Facebook page:

We kicked off Wellness Week 2018 in Dublin 1 with my most popular talk “Get your Sleep” for a government department. The questions and answers were eye-opening and attendees received lots of practical advice to maximise their resting hours.

In September 2017 we launched the new URBANMAMA self-care course for women in Panda Play Cafe, Ballsbridge – this was a great partnership with older children cared for in the play cafe while mothers practised self-care in the adjoining room.

On Saturday 9th September 2017 myself and Cora McCauley from the Home Education Network were interviewed on Newstalk’s Global Village programme by Dil Wickremasinghe about home schooling and how it works for our families. It was a pleasure to be interviewed by someone so positive about home education, and we hope many families found some benefit in the interview. Here is the link for you to listen back.

On 11th June 2017 I presented a talk about Mental Health and Sleep for parents at the All About Baby Fair hosted by Friends of Breastfeeding. As always the audience participation was fantastic and it was lovely meeting so many happy families.

Self-careSundays

On 14th May we launched URBANMAMA 2017, our self-care programme for women. Our attendees enjoyed a cuppa and some cake before taking a yoga class in the sunshine under our leafy trees. Then we had a Self-care 101 presentation where they learned tools for eating, moving, thinking and sleeping well with lots of kitchen hacks to save time when cooking. Their goody bags went down a treat and included items such as nail varnish, healthy snacks, skincare products, herbal teas and discounts on a range of wellness-related services. Our next round begins in September. Please check out the URBANMAMA page for all the details.

On Saturday 6th May 2017 I met the Blessington community, Rachel Allen and Health Minister Simon Harris at the Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town event in the Community College. I gave free mini-wellness consultations to members of the public, and answered a range of wellness queries about weight loss, mental health, work/life balance and more.

We were proud to be sponsors of the first BABYBE festival 2017 in Dublin Food Co-op and gave a talk on “Sleep for parents” to a great crowd!

I gave a couple of free talks on Mental Health for women on Thursday 26th April 2017: 10.30am in The Hopsack, Rathmines and 6pm in The Green Door Market, Dublin 8. There was a great turnout to both talks and many questions were answered, with the most common questions about getting enough sleep, as always!

On April 8th 2017 The Wellness Clinic took a stand at the Dublin 12 Enterprise Community event hosted by Bank of Ireland Walkinstown. January 2017 saw the first of the URBANMAMA Moon meetings take place, a gathering of women at the full or new moon, coming together to share wisdom and understanding. This is becoming a monthly event, with a continued flow of women’s wisdom bringing us closer to ourselves and others. Please contact us for more details.

In January 2017 I gave a “Self-care for mothers” talk to the ladies (and babies) of Cuidiu Dublin South West, outlining my four-point plan: nutrition, sleep strategies, exercise and mental health strategies. This was a great evening event with a lively Q&A session afterwards.

The “Get your Sleep!” talk went down well at the Family Christmas Market, December 2016 in the Dublin Food Co-op, Newmarket Square. This was aimed at people needing nutrition and lifestyle tips to maximise their sleep and wake feeling refreshed. The free recipe / sleep tips card set people up for a healthier Christmas!

On Monday 14th November I had a display table at the Local Enterprise Office Women in Business event. This enabled me to promote The Wellness Clinic within the LEO network and reach a wider audience. These events are a fantastic resource for entrepreneurs and have diverse speakers and a busy calendar of events.

On Thursday 3rd November I gave a talk to the WSAF Golden Years Club in Dublin 12. They enjoyed a demonstration and samples of low-sugar treats and we reminisced about foods of their youth. They learned about mass farming, hydroponics and why fruit and vegetables don’t look or taste the same these days. There was a lively question and answer session after the talk.

On 9th October I presented a talk about self-care for mothers with baby-led weaning food demo at the Wear A Hug Fair hosted by Babywearing Ireland. I think I struck a chord with people and I got great feedback afterwards in person and on social media. We mums feel so much pressure to have everything perfect, and we often neglect ourselves in the process.

I spoke about how diet, sleep, exercise and stress management can help a mama through the tough times. My food demo on family-friendly foods and samples went down a treat. Everyone got a recipe card and my top 10 sleep tips. Great to meet so many old and new friends in one place! One mama sent me this lovely message after the event:

“Niamh your talk at WAH today was really fantastic, I now have fab tips and recipes to bring home but also, through your warmth and honesty, really come away feeling I am not alone in my parenting choices or struggles – your talk was like a reassuring hug from a friend and I look forward to attending future talks and events.”
– Natasha, Dublin

On Saturday 1st October I had a stall at Dublin Food Co-op in Newmarket Square from 10am – 3pm. I gave free wellness advice (nutrition, sleep strategies, stress management and incorporating exercise into your daily routine) and the majority of the questions were about sleep! Everyone enjoyed my samples of vegan oat cookies, parents got a free sleep tips and healthy recipes card (perfect for baby-led weaning, lunch boxes or hungry parents!) and everyone else got a free healthy treats recipe card. There is a fantastic community at the Co-op and lots of young families socialising every weekend

I was honoured to be invited to speak on the topic of healthy eating for the Over 55s Showcase in City Hall on 26th September 2016. This was a fantastic event, run by the Dublin South Central Age Friendly Alliance, and the audience enjoyed my explanation of how food production methods have changed, and why “tomatoes don’t taste like tomatoes any more”! Many of the audience thanked me afterwards and are aware now of eating organic, local and seasonal produce for the health benefits.

I appeared at the recent Health Fair on 8th September 2016 in Dublin 12.

“Skip the Sugar” was the theme and I gave out sugar free cookies and brownies plus a free recipe and wellness card for everyone to bring home. This was of particular interest to people looking to lose weight, diabetics, arthritis sufferers or anyone with inflammatory conditions.
